space…the final frontier
these are the voyages of the starship Enterprise

her continuing mission:
to explore strange new worlds
to seek out new life and new civilizations
to boldly go where no one has gone before

I was trying to think of what I would do first if I was going somewhere with the Doctor and I realized it would probably be to go to the restroom. All that running with a full bladder just isn’t appealing…

"Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider."
— Timothy Leary (via onlinecounsellingcollege)

I flat iron my hair for the first time in 2 years today just to see what it was like. I don’t can’t see myself doing it often, I don’t like the way it smells. It’s strange how the smell of burned hair is unappealing to me. That smell used to mean my hair would look amazing, but now, It just smells like unnecessary hair damage.

The most dangerous phrase in the language is, “we’ve always done it this way.”

"Come on, let’s mix it up!" The heart surgeon says.
"B-but we’ve always done it this way!" The other replies, "this is how you replace a heart valve."
"That’s the most dangerous phrase in the human language!" The first surgeon replies haughtily as he inputs a fruit loop into the patient’s heart. "This will be his valve. He will be a fruit loop in a world of Cheerios."

This is serious business, because this is a large part of how sexism, racism, homophobia, rape culture, ethnocentrism, etc. continue to happen.

The Eagle Bull- Oxendine family is being sued by their child’s school for defamation, because they asked the school to permanently change their offensive and culturally insensitive Thanksgiving curriculum and to honor a two-year scholarship taken from their daughter after they voiced their concern over Native appropriation there.
They’re raising funds to defray mounting legal expenses. Please share this link and donate what you can. If they lose, we all lose. This case has the potential to set dangerous precedent where Natives are effectively gagged from speaking out against appropriation and the abuse of our culture and sacred ways by mainstream society. This is legal conquest. We can’t allow them to play Indian and hide behind judicial robes to do it. Thank you. Contribute here: http://www.gofundme.com/8f3z30

Usually the first episode of a series is one of the best, with a really creative plot line, an awesome problem to solve, and great plot twists.

And then there’s Doctor Who:
